In 2020 Creative Ireland Wexford funded a project based on Eileen Gray who was an Irish architect and furniture designer and a pioneer of the Modern Movement in architecture.
Méanscoil Gharman in Enniscorthy is in the family home of Eileen Gray and artist Laura Ni Fhlaibhin and contemporary architect Ben Mulligan worked with transition year students through a series of workshops in celebrating the legacy of Eileen Gray in terms of innovation in design and dynamic creative practice.
The aim of the workshops was to advance the students awareness of design processes and to develop their understanding of contemporary art and architecture.
The project culminated in a series of outdoor sculptural works and the creation of a short film which documented the overall project.
