The project is a partnership between Ferns Diocesan Youth Service, TEKcentral and Wexford Library Service will enable young adults, aged 12-17 years to develop their creative and IT skills by taking part in a two part, hands on design by technology project, using STEM tasters outdoor in summer and to design, make and create with Tinkercad at Halloween.
This programme offers:
- Taster activities at introductory level outdoors in summer using a mix of engineering, technology and problem solving to build interest and skills.
- Followed by a week-long programme in autumn to enable them to create and design products /3D models with technologies available to them in their local library.
A suite of video guides will be developed to enable the young people continue to practice and develop their programming skills in the longer term.
The young people will present their work and learnings to their peers, youth workers, families and a public audience in an online production for Wexford Science Festival in Science Week.
