The Planning Authority is required to approve and publish a list of newspapers for publication of newspaper notices for submission with Planning Authorities. The list must be reviewed at least every year.
The following newspapers are acceptable for Public Notices regarding Planning Applications:
- The People Group (County Wexford)
- The Irish Independent
- The Irish Times
- The Irish Sun
- The Irish Daily Star
- The Irish Daily Mail
- The Irish Daily Mirror
- The Irish Examiner
Article 18(2)(a) Planning & Development Regulations 2001 (as amended) states:
“For the purposes of these Regulations, each Planning Authority shall approve a list of the newspapers, including national newspapers, it considers has a sufficiently large circulation in its functional area, and different newspapers may be approved in respect of different parts of such functional area.”
Article 18(2)(b) Planning & Development Regulations 2001 (as amended) states:
“The list referred to in paragraph (a) shall be reviewed by the Planning Authority as may be appropriate and at least once a year”.
A review has been carried out and based on responses received, I, therefore, approve the above named newspapers as acceptable regarding Planning Applications for the coming year.
