The purpose of the scheme:
Wexford County Council may pay Planting Grants up to a maximum of €300 to voluntary groups for planting projects in public areas. The grant is to help cover the cost of trees, shrubs, topsoil and landscaping materials required for the project.
There is no longer a requirement to submit receipts / proof of purchase for items covered under the planting grant scheme. You must now select from a list of approved garden centres/garden providers when submitting your application form.
Please note that the planting grant can only be redeemed at your selected garden centre/garden provider. Prior to selection, please ensure that the provider carries the garden supplies required for your project.
All planting undertaken must be sustainable planting and must include pollinator friendly planting. No annuals / bedding plants are covered under this scheme. For more information or advise on sustainable & pollinator friendly planting click here. Please note herbicides and pesticides are not covered under this scheme.
Please note that labour costs are not covered under the scheme.
Successful grant applications will be notified by e-mail to the e-mail address submitted on the application form. Please ensure details are correct at time of submission.
Applicants should be aware that the scheme may be oversubscribed, in such circumstances all applications fulfilling the conditions may not be successful or may be for a lesser grant amount.
