Discs/Documents Lost, Stolen or Destroyed
- An Application For Replacement Documents RF134 form must be completed, signed and stamped at a Garda Station
- Submit the form to your local Motor Taxation Office with the relevant fee below.

Discs/Documents Not Received In The Post
If you are waiting for a tax disc or document in the post, you are entitled to a free replacement, if it is not delivered to you.
In order to be eligible for a free replacement, you must wait a minimum of 10 working days from the date of issue of the original disc/document.
The application must be made no later than 30 working days from the date of issue also.
The Application For Replacement Document Form RF134, completed, signed and stamped at a Garda Station as above, is still required in this situation, stating that the disc/document was not received in the post.
Applications made earlier than 10 working days, or later than 30 working days from the date of issue, will be charged the relevant fee indicated in the section above.
How long will I have to wait to get the replacement?
Vehicle Registration Certificates are posted directly to you from the Dept. of Transport, Shannon, Co. Clare and take between 7 and 10 days to issue.
Tax discs, registration books (old brown log books,) and trailer cards are issued by the local motor tax office. Replacement tax discs applied for at counter will be given to the customer on the spot. Applications for replacement registration books and trailer cards may need to be taken in at the counter and posted out when processed.
