This iconic building, which was constructed in 1775, forms an integral part of the fabric of Wexford Town and is located along Wexford’s Cultural Spine. It has been home to Wexford Arts Centre since 1974.
Due to the ever-increasing requirement for the provision of cultural and performance space, Wexford County Council, in partnership with Wexford Arts Centre, secured funding from the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media for renovation works to the building. Works commenced on site in May 2021. The works are complete and the Arts Centre reopened in time for the Opera Festival. The official opening ceremony was held on November 12th 2022.
