Notice of Grants under the Community Recognition Fund 2024
Wexford County Council, in conjunction with Wexford Local Community Development Committee (LCDC), gives notice of the launch of the final round of grant funding through the Community Recognition Fund 2024.
The Community Recognition Fund (CRF 2024) is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development, to recognise the huge efforts made by local communities in welcoming and supporting new arrivals from Ukraine and other countries.
A fund of €1.6 million was made available by the Department of Rural and Community Development and Wexford LCDC for the CRF 2024, to support medium to large-scale projects for not-for-profit community or voluntary groups in County Wexford. A total of €798,291.00 was allocated in the first application window, supporting 11no. projects across the five municipal districts of County Wexford.
This final round of the CRF 2024 funding (November 2024) will further develop projects that will deliver long term benefits to those living in areas identified as having significant levels of new arrivals and where there is a clear need for investment identified. The focus of the 2024 scheme is on projects of greater scale and impact.
The minimum grant aid per individual project is €50,000.00. Applications for funding below the minimum grant aid threshold will not be considered.
The maximum grant aid per individual project is €500,000.00. Applications for funding above the maximum grant aid threshold will not be considered.

The Community Recognition Fund 2024 will support community groups, particularly in areas of:
• Development or refurbishment of community or cultural facilities
• local club and sports facilities; school/parish facilities
• the purchase of equipment for clubs, festivals, community events and organisations
• transport infrastructure, such as community vehicles
NOTES:
• Match funding is not required. This is a whole project support initiative.
• No other public funding stream, part funding or support from another Government Department is allowable.
• Community raised funding is allowable.
• Projects funded are to be Capital only in nature. Proposals for operational or running costs will not be considered.
• There is no need for previous applicants on file to reapply with the same application.
• Applications from previous windows are considered to be LIVE under further windows and will be evaluated against new entrants.
• Previous applications are welcome to re-apply with changes or updates to their project scope, costing or proposed outcomes; or an entirely new proposal, should they see fit.
• Only one application per community group will be valid, with the latest application being considered as LIVE.
