Tomhaggard Women’s Shed launched in 2015 is a vital part of the local community and provides a safe, convivial meeting place for all women in the area while socialising and learning new skills. Many of the ladies are retired, widowed, living alone or have relocated to the area and are looking to combat social isolation.
This creative writing project will see participants work with writer Cat Hogan exploring the experiences, the impact of Covid-19 and coping mechanisms to stay connected.
The creation of this booklet containing their short stories aims to explore creativity, develop new skills and have a positive impact on the arts and mental health in the community and further afield. It will also document the social history and importance of Tomhaggard women’s shed both for the members and the wider community.
