The Community Recognition Fund 2024 will support community groups, particularly in areas of:
• Development or refurbishment of community or cultural facilities
• local club and sports facilities; school/parish facilities
• the purchase of equipment for clubs, festivals, community events and organisations
• transport infrastructure, such as community vehicles

Generation Green Community Fund
Applications are now open for a €5m /£4.3m Generation Green Community Fund
The SSE Airtricity Generation Green Community Fund has been established to support communities across the island of Ireland in their journey towards sustainability. The fund is designed to empower local communities to take an active role in the Green Transition - a collective shift toward greener, more sustainable living. The Generation Green Community Fund is open to a wide range of groups – whether projects are part of a grassroots organisation working on environmental awareness, a school looking to integrate sustainability into the curriculum, or a social enterprise creating green solutions, this fund is here to support their vision. Closing date is 10th January 2025.

SEAI Community Grants
Community and voluntary organisations can receive funding of 30% of capital costs for energy efficiency and renewable energy programmes through this scheme. This figure could rise to 50% following SEAI approval.

Community Water Development Fund 2024
Small scale grants, events and match funding requests
The Community Water Development Fund aims to fund projects that will bring about improvements in water quality and/or raise public awareness of the value of good water quality and how to improve it. It aims to build community capacity in water related challenges, working together to improve water quality.

Climate Actions Work Engagement Fund
October 2024
Climate Actions Work is a first-of-its-kind national engagement and communications campaign to support and encourage action on climate and community resilience. The campaign, led by the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications, will focus on hearing from, and working with, local communities – talking directly to people to help combat climate change.
The Climate Actions Work Fund will provide small scale community funding or grants, ranging from €2,500 to up to €10,000, for people and groups to engage in the conversation about climate change. This funding is to support communications and engagement activities that enable you to connect with a wider audience in your community.

Local Enhancement Programme
March 2024
The Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) provides funding to support community groups across Ireland. The LEP is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development (the Department) and administered by the Local Community Development Committees (LCDCs) in each Local Authority area.
The Local Enhancement Programme will support groups, particularly in disadvantaged areas to carry out necessary repairs and improvements to their facilities, and/or to purchase equipment, such as tables and chairs, tools and signage, laptops and printers, lawnmowers, canopies and training equipment etc. (Capital Grants only).

Community Recognition Fund
May 2024
The Community Recognition Fund (CRF 2024) is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development, to recognise the huge efforts made by local communities in welcoming and supporting new arrivals from Ukraine and other countries. The minimum grant aid per individual project is €50,000, with a maximum potential grant of €500,000 applying. Match funding is not required. Projects to be funded will be capital in nature.

Residents Association Grant Scheme
February 2024
Projects will be considered within private housing estates only which are designed to improve community facilities or enhance the appearance of the area concerned (maximum grant payable is €600). Works that will qualify include, but are not limited to planting of trees, shrubs, landscaping; Community Development Initiatives; Promoting Social Inclusion; Promoting Local Heritage.

Planting Grants for voluntary groups
June 2024
Wexford County Council may pay Planting Grants up to a maximum of €300 to voluntary groups for planting projects in public areas. The grant is to help cover the cost of trees, shrubs, topsoil and landscaping materials required for the project.

Built Heritage Investment Scheme & Historic Structure Fund 2024

This scheme seeks to assist with the repair and conservation of Protected Structures and Proposed Protected Structures and in certain cases, for the conservation of structures within Architectural Conservation Areas, and to support the employment of skilled and experienced conservation professionals, craftworkers and tradespeople.

Circular Economy Innovation Grant Scheme 2024
This grant scheme aimed to support innovation and circular economy projects by social enterprises, voluntary and community organisations and businesses with fewer than 50 employees. Typical funding for CEIGS projects under the 2024 call was anticipated to be in the range of €10,000 to €50,000. Closing date is Friday 19th July. Full details available here

Community Centre Investment Fund 2024
Community organisations were supported with grants of between €10,000 - €100,000 to develop and enhance their existing community facilities. A wide range of works were eligible for funding including refurbishment of kitchens & toilets, upgrades to windows & doors, energy efficiency upgrades and improving access for people with disabilities. There were two categories to apply under.
1. Category 1: Small scale projects/improvements to facilities
i. €10,000 - €25,000
ii. A minimum of 5% of the total project budget is required by the applicant as match funding.
2. Category 2: Larger scale projects
i. €25,001 to €100,000.
ii. A minimum of 10% of the total project budge was required by the applicant as match funding.
Interested groups registered as “users” on the online portal here in advance of the application process which opened on 29th July 2024 and closed on 29th August 2024.

The SSE Thermal Great Island Community Investment Fund was open for applications from groups situated in the New Ross Municipal District. This initial application window was open for 6 weeks, closing on Friday 23 August 2024. Community Water Development Fund - Open Call 2025
The Local Authority Waters Programme (LAWPRO) has opened the Community Water Development Fund for 2025 and welcomes grant applications from community groups in County Wexford and nationwide. LAWPRO is a national shared service working on behalf of the 31 local authorities in Ireland coordinating efforts to achieve good water quality in every county in Ireland. The fund supports communities to deliver positive actions for water quality, protection, and awareness through community grants. The closing date is 12 noon on Wednesday 20th November 2024.
