Near Zero Energy Building (nZEB) Open House, Wexford
A Near Zero Energy Building (nZEB) is a building that has a very high energy performance. Through high levels of insulation, very efficient ventilation and heating systems, and constructed to have low levels of air leakage/drafts, an nZEB house requires a very low amount of energy. The building must incorporate energy from renewable sources produced on-site, or nearby, such as solar panels or heat pumps, to offset its energy demand.
100% of Wexford County Council new build housing are delivered to nZEB standard since 2018.
If you would like to learn more, Staff from our Housing Capital section will be on hand to explain what an NZEB house is and to show the mechanics of the units (i.e. heat pump and mechanical ventilation) used in near Zero Energy Build Housing and will answer any questions.
