The Federation of Irish Sport recently announced the County recipients of the 2023 Volunteers in Sport Awards proudly supported by the National Network of 29 Local Sports Partnerships.
The recipient of the award for Co. Wexford is Marty Moylan of Dunbrody Archers. Marty’s association with Dunbrody Archers goes back to 2004 when the club was formed. While Marty has competed at the highest level both Nationally and Internationally, it is his on-going support and assistance that he continually offers to both new and existing members that makes him such a vital part of the club. Marty made a profound contribution to establishing a bi-annual competition, the Dunbrody 100, hosted by the club which attracts archers from across Europe. Marty has championed archery for twenty years and now gives back as a Level 2 coach. Marty is an archer, a helper and a leader, but most importantly he is a friend to everyone in the club.
Recognising the depth and breadth of volunteering in sporting communities nationwide, these dedicated volunteers will be celebrated at a national awards ceremony in Dublin on Thursday 29th February 2024. The invited special guest speaker is Minister Thomas Byrne, Minster of State with responsibility for Sport and Physical Education, which is testament to the commitment at government level to supporting and recognising the vital role of volunteers in advancing sports participation and community development.
Congratulations Martin , very well deserved 👏👏
