Wexford County Council is pleased to announce that 15 Communities were awarded funding in 2024 through the Creative Community Programme spanning the 5 municipal districts and supporting 16 artists across a variety of artforms. This amounts to a total investment of €40,000 in our local communities. €30,000 of this is from the Arts office and €10,000 is allocated from Creative Ireland.
The Creative Communities Programme allows community groups who are interested in working on an arts project with an artist from our Creative Communities Artists Panel. The maximum award is €3,000 in match-funding. The artist’s panel comprises of over 29 professional artists based in county Wexford who work in a wide variety of art forms and have experience of engaging with communities.
A further strand also supports collaboration between two or more artists on the Creative Communities Panel with a community group on art projects up to a maximum fund of €5,000 per project.

John Fleming Cathaoirleach of Wexford County Council said “I am delighted that Wexford County Council, and the Creative Ireland Programme can support such a great variety of Community Groups and professional artists for 2024. This year the standard of applications was very high from across the County. I am looking forward to seeing the positive benefits these rich artistic collaborations will have on our communities through this programme.”
